FAQs

How can I check the status of my application?

Log in to your applicant portal and regularly check the “My Applications” section for the latest updates on your application. You will receive email notifications with important status updates throughout the process.

How long does it take to receive a decision on an application?

Processing times vary. Most programs take up to one week. Programs like MHMS may take longer due to the interview process.

My application status hasn’t changed in over 2 weeks. Should I be concerned?

Not necessarily. Some programs have longer review times. It may also mean documents are pending. Check your document checklist or contact Vancouver Admissions team at vancouver-admissions@fdu.edu .

I’ve been asked to submit additional documents. How will that affect the processing time?

Submitting additional documents provides more complete information for your application, ensuring it can move forward in the review process. Once all requested materials are received, your application will be processed. Your application will be on hold until the requested documents have been submitted.

What does the MHMS interview process involve?

The interview evaluates your communication skills, knowledge of the program, and how your professional goals align with the program’s values. It’s also an opportunity for you to demonstrate your motivation and suitability for the MHMS program.

For inquiries, please contact us at vancouver-admissions@fdu.edu and include your full name and application ID. Please contact us from the same email address listed on your application.

Conditions of Admission

Please review your acceptance letter carefully, as it may include specific conditions that must be fulfilled. These conditions may appear in one or both of the following locations:

  • On your Provisional Acceptance Letter
  • In the “Conditions” section of your applicant portal, under the “Required Documents” tab

FAQs

When do I need to fulfill the conditions on my offer?

Different conditions may be subject to different timelines for fulfillment:

  • Most conditions must be satisfied prior to the course registration. These typically involve the submission of supporting documentation, such as proof of name change, backlog certificate, etc. If you have these conditions, upload the necessary documents through your applicant portal, in the “Conditions” section under the “Required Documents” tab.
  • Certain conditions, such as completion of English Placement Test (EPT) and/or Math Placement Test (MPT) need to be met before course registration and the start of your studies at FDU Vancouver. If you have these conditions, no immediate action is required upon receiving the acceptance letter. You will receive further instructions closer to the program start date.
  • Some conditions, such as completion of foundation courses, should be fulfilled during your first term of studies at FDU Vancouver. If you have these conditions, no immediate action is required upon receiving the acceptance letter. These requirements will be addressed as part of your academic planning.

How do I know if I am required to take EPT/MPT?

Many of our new graduate and undergraduate students may need to take the English Placement Test (EPT) before registering for classes. This requirement depends on your program, previous education, and English proficiency test scores. Additionally, most undergraduate students are required to complete the Math Placement Test (MPT).

If you applied through a student recruitment agency and don’t have access to the portal, please reach out to your agent for assistance.

  2. Click on the Required Documents tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Conditions section. If you see “FDU English Placement Test” and/or “FDU Math Placement Test,” you are required to complete them before course registration.

When do I take EPT/MPT?

At the stage when you just received your offer, you don’t need to take any further action for the EPT and MPT. Students with a valid Letter of Acceptance will receive an email invitation to register for classes approximately 1.5 to 2 months before your program start date.
