The College of Nursing and Allied Health offers courses and academic programs that prepare graduates for careers in nursing, clinical lab studies, and medical and radiologic technology.

Our allied health program includes collaborations with other units (e.g., Rutgers University, regional hospitals) that maintain accreditations from appropriate bodies, including the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCMDS), the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This assures that our students are prepared for licensure/certification in accordance with the national standard for their educational program.

The Baccalaureate Nursing Program, Master’s Nursing Program/Post Master’s Certificate Program, and Clinical Doctorate Nursing Program at the Henry P. Becton College of Nursing and Allied Health at Fairleigh Dickinson University are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Approval to run these programs has also been obtained from the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.

Our Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Technology/Respiratory Care Program holds Provisional Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (COARC). This status signifies that a program with an Approval of Intent has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the Standards (through submission of an acceptable Provisional Accreditation Self Study Report (PSSR) and any other documentation required by the CoARC, as well as satisfactory completion of an initial on-site visit, to be allowed to admit students. It is recognized as an accredited program by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), which provides enrolled students who complete the program with eligibility for the Respiratory Care Credentialing Examination(s). The program will remain on Provisional Accreditation until it achieves Continuing Accreditation.
